Stargirls+ is a FREE multi-day STEM camp hosted by ICRAR, open to girls and underrepresented genders in Years 9-12.

If you are interested in Astronomy, Engineering  or Data Science as a career, Stargirls+ is your opportunity to get started. You’ll practice some real-world skills, visit world-class facilities, and hear from leading scientists and engineers in the field. You’ll also have the chance to meet other like-minded students who share your interests!

 

Throughout the event there will be the opportunity to:

  • Access and use research-grade telescopes
  • Talk with leading people in Astronomy and related fields
  • Visit a supercomputing research centre to learn about data intensive astronomy
  • Participate in a night time stargazing event
  • Complete a host of other astronomy related activities

What’s involved?

The next Stargirls+ camp will be held in during the week of January 27th 2025.

Stargirls+ is hosted at ICRAR in Perth, Western Australia at both our UWA and Curtin locations.

This is a day camp, which will require transport to and from site each day. Food will be provided throughout the event.

Places are limited, so early applications are encouraged! Please note that we are only able to accept applications from participants who have not previously attended a Stargirls camp.
