Remote and regional schools

Remote and regional schools are uniquely positioned to take advantage of SPIRIT’s web-enabled interface. Using online platforms we are able to support teachers and students at point of need. Contact us for further information.

SPIRIT and the West Australian Curriculum

The use of the SPIRIT remote telescopes fits into many areas of the secondary Western Australian curriculum including Science, Maths, Digital and Design Technologies across years 7-12.

It addresses the following general capabilities:

• Numeracy
• Information and communication technology (ICT) capability
• Critical and creative thinking

As well as the cross-curriculum priority of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures depending on the program.

SPIRIT programs focus on building STEM skills as outlined in Focus 2021 by the Department of Education.

Tailored learning programs

Additional learning can be organised to encompass a variety of topics. Access to computers and specialised software for hands-on workshops and other prerequisites are discussed during planning.
