Welcome to the Sydney Hub sub-page. The 2024 Sydney Hub will be physically located at Macquarie University on Wednesday, 26 June 2024. The Hub is co-organised by Macquarie University and the University of New South Wales.
Rationale
The programme for the Sydney Hub Day is designed to provide ample opportunities for Sydney-based astronomers and visitors of all career stages and research interests to get to know each other. The day will begin with a breakfast and open astronomy discussion topics and an in-person poster sparkler session. We will then proceed with the National Programme. The day will end with a trivia challenge followed by the Hub dinner. Come along and meet “who’s who in the zoo”, put a face to a name and enjoy some good science discussions.

Cost
Thanks to sponsorship from Macquarie University and UNSW, we were able to keep cost for the day to a minimum, all while offering a fun and worthwhile day. Cost per person and per activity as applicable is published on the registration form, for a maximum (including Breakfast, Lunch, AM+PM Tea, and Hub Dinner) of $50pp.
In order to make the invoicing process easier and avoid additional university logistical and cost overheads, we are planning to aggregate costs for attendees and send a single invoice per institute according to the events people sign up for.
The Sydney hub’s registration form has a requirement that all attendees check with their local institutional contact as listed on the registration form prior to registering to ensure there are no surprises when the invoice comes.
