What is Stargirls+ Midwest?
This camp is a FREE event, open to all high school girls and underrepresented genders in years 8-12. During this two-day camp, held in Geraldton, Western Australia, students will get hands-on experience with astronomy research, and meet some of the women who have made their careers in astrophysics, engineering, and data science.
If you are interested in a career in Astronomy, Engineering or Data Science, this is an opportunity to practice some real-world skills and talk to leading experts in the field.
Throughout the event there will be the opportunity to:
- Access and use research-grade telescopes
- Talk with leading people in Astronomy and related fields
- Learn about the SKA-Low and other radio telescopes being built and used nearby
- Participate in a night time stargazing event
